April 24, 2025:  

The Secretary  Population Balochistan Abdullah Khan opened the training on family planning methods organised by the Population  Wlefare Department  at RTI Quetta . The DG Population Mr. Azeem Kakar  Principal RTI Dr. Kokab and Director Jumma Khan were present. The Secretary said that 

Training on Reproductive Health and Family Planning (RH/FP) methods for doctors at the Regional Training Institute in Quetta is crucial for enhancing the quality of healthcare services across the region. It equips healthcare professionals with up-to-date knowledge and skills to provide accurate counselling, promote informed choices, and deliver safe and effective family planning options. This training also strengthens the capacity of the health department to address high population growth, reduce maternal and infant mortality, and improve overall reproductive health outcomes. Furthermore, it empowers doctors to play a key role in community awareness and behaviour change, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more sustainable society.

The Secretary  said that for improving MNCH and nutrition indicators,  it is a must to strengthen  RH and family planning, for which in all health facilities  of Balochistan,  FP services should be must. The rights based approached under the concept of Tawazun have been adopted, and functional integration with the health department  is done to adopt a multisectoral approach.

April 19, 2025:

The Secretary Population Abdullah Khan visited the Regional Training Institute(RTI) Population. The UNFPA Provincial Lead Ms.Sadia , the Deputy Director Population Mr. Noorullah, Mr. Imran Hussain accompanied.
The Principal RTI, Dr. kokab, and Deputy Principal Dr. Tahira Jaffar gave a detailed presentation on the institute performance. Tue teacher also visited the classes and had interaction with the students. Trees were also planted . Mr. Abdullah Khan directed that quality education may be imparted so that potential human resources for reproductive health and Family Planning is developed for the development of Balochistan. The RTI administration was appreciated on their launch of RH/FP magazine and on the establishment of the model clinic.

Later, the visitors had round around the institute , where Laboratory, library, classrooms and computer lab were observed

April 16, 2025
Population Welfare Department, Balochistan.
Meeting on review of curriculum and text book of schools and intermediate was held under the chairmanship of Secretary population welfare department expert from Population, Health, Education and Partner ( UNFPA, Path finder) attended.
In the meeting, it was discussed that topics related to health hygiene, population growth, reproductive health, and family planning will be proposed for inclusion in the curriculum and textbook. It was decided that after finalisation, the proposal with review will be submitted to the Education Department for consideration.

December 7th, 2024. The Population Welfare Department, Government of Balochistan organized a one day Health & Reproductive Health (RH)/ Family Planning (FP) camp in Warchum District Ziarat in connection with the celebration of “One Month RH/FH Activism & Promotion Campaign” (December 01, 2024 to December 31, 2024) with the concept of Tawazun. The camp was inaugurated by Mis. Hadia Nawaz Parliamentary Secretary to Chief Minister Balochistan on Population and Mr. Abdullah Khan Secretary Population Welfare Department on December7, 2024. The Director General Population Mr. Azeem Kakar, Director Population Quetta Division Mr. Abdul Sattar Shahwani, Director Admn: Population Mr. Jumma Khan, Director PMCT Mr. Naeem Khan, , DHO Dr. Yasir, DSM PPHI Nisar Ahmed and other officials visited the camp. The Health camp was organized in collaboration with Health Department District Ziarat. The PPHI and RIZ Consultancy also provided technical support.
In the camp more than 600 numbers of individuals/patients were checked and provided treatment. Moreover, 71 numbers of Females and Childers were vaccinated and 60 number of couples were provided counseling and Family Planning services. In the camp Malaria and TB tests facility were also provided. The Lady Doctors of Population Welfare Department and male doctors from Health, Health providers, vaccinators and Social Mobilizers provided services
A large number of communities from different villages of District Ziarat visited the camp and availed the services. The Population welfare Department Balochistan is celebrating the month of December as a One Month Activism and Promotion of RH/FP with the concept of Twazun.
In this regard different promotional activities are being organized in all Districts of Balochistan to promote Population Programme for demand generation for Reproductive Health & Family Planning.

The Secretary Population , Abdullah Khan, while on official tour to Kalat Division ,held meeting with the Commissioner Kalat at khuzadar, Mr. Naeem Khan Bazai. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar Yasir Dashti and Divisional Director Health Khuzdar Dr. Tahira Baloch were also present. In the meeting, the promotion of Family Planning and Reproductive Health services was discussed. It was discussed that FP/RH is being integrated with MNCH services under the Post Partam and Post Abortion Family Strategy for better health outcomes .
The Commissioner emphasised that the population staff should take active part in polio campaign to help interrupt the circulation and transmission of the virus through quality campaign.

HERE COMPLETES ONE MONTH ACTIVISM ON FP/RH( DECEMBER01 TO DECEMBER31, 2024)

The officers and officials of the Population Welfare Department, Balochistan, deserve heartfelt appreciation for their remarkable efforts in organizing a series of educational and promotional activities during December 2024 as part of the One Month Activism on Family Planning and Reproductive Health under the concept of Tawazun. Secretary Population Welfare Department Balochistan, Abdullah Khan, emphasized the critical role of reproductive health services at a seminar on the ‘Uplifting Ceremony of Population Welfare Programme.’ He highlighted that women empowerment begins with raising awareness of reproductive rights, linking stunted growth, malnourishment, and anemic mothers to a lack of family planning. The event, attended by Director General PWD Muhammad Azeem Kakar and other key officials, focused on spreading the department’s message throughout Balochistan.

December31, 2024 the Secretary, Population Welfare Department, visited District Population Welfare Office, Khuzdar, the DPWO, Khuzdar delivered a comprehensive presentation,. The Secretary, PWD Abdullah Khan, also visited the Service Delivery Outlets in Khuzdar i.e. Reproductive Health Services Centre, Khuzdar and Family Welfare Centre Faizabad.

December31, 2024 the Secretary, Population Welfare Department, visited District Population Welfare Office, Khuzdar, and had a meeting with the DPWO, Khuzdar. The District Officer, Dr. Khalida Umar, delivered a comprehensive presentation. In the meeting with the DPWO, Khuzdar, the service integration of Population Welfare and Health Department was discussed and it was emphasised that for better service deleivery of Family Planning and Reproductive Health services, service integration of both the departments is inevitable. Moreover, in the meeting the issues faced by the district office regarding rent of building and budget constraints were also discussed.

December 30, 2014:
The Secretary Population Balochistan, Abdullah Khan, held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Yasir Khan Dashti, at his office. The Divisional Dirctor Health and Medical Suprintendant Teaching Hospital Khuzdar Dr. Tahira Baloch and the District Population Welfare Officer Khuzdar Dr. Khalida Umar participated in the meeting. In the meeting, strengthening of postpartum and Post Abortion and family planning services was discussed . The Reproductive Health Centre Khurdar will be strengthened. The Deputy Commissioner said that efforts will be made to improve the RH Centre. It was decided that the Family Welfare Centre in Naal Hospital will be established. The Community Based Family Welfare Workers of the Population Department will be engaged in polio . The DPWO said that already 5 workers have already been engaged in polio .
The Secretary Population said that the health department may provide space in RHCs to shift the FWCs for functional integration for better service delivery . The rent cases will be expedited, the Deputy Commioner said .

The Divisional Director Health Dr. Tahira Baloch assured that the health department will provide maximum support to the Pop Program.

December 31, 2024; The Secretary, Population Welfare Department visited District Population Welfare Office, Khuzdar, and had a meeting with the DPWO, Khuzdar The District Officer, Dr. Khalida Umar delivered a comprehensive presentation. He further emphasised that the recruitment of social mobilzers may be done on merit and selection of qualified candidates, including females, may be ensured on merit.

January 1, 2025
The Secretary Population Balochistan, Abdullah Khan, held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Lasbella, Ms. Humera Baloch, at her office.The District Population Welfare Officer Lasbella Mr.Akram Musakahail also participated in the meeting. In the meeting, the performance and progress of the population welfare department in the district was discussed. The Deputy Commissioner assured utmost support to improve the provision of Family Planning service in the district. The Secretary, PWD emphasized that the recruitment of Community Based Family Planning Workers may be completed at the earliest and merit may be ensured .
In the meeting it was also discussed that functional integration at service delivery point will play a vital role while provision of family planning services in the area, in this regard health department will be taken on board to provide space in RHCs to shift the FWCs for functional integration. The Secretary, PWD, also stressed that while recruitment of Social Mobilizers, merit may be ensured and qualified candidates including female candidates, may be selected.
